Call for Support: African Wildlife
HONG KONG, September 18, 2014 — Africa needs collaboration with Asia, even with the whole world to protect its extraordinary wildlife resources while realizing the economic potentials. Dr. Patrick Bergin, CEO of African Wildlife Foundation (AWF), with 25 years’ experience in Africa, offered an evening presentation on "Asia’s Impact on the Future of Africa’s Wildlife and Wild Lands" at Asia Society Hong Kong Center.
Speaking of the animal protection, Dr. Bergin showed his concern about the smuggling and slaughtering of wildlife and iterated that it needed a long-term strategy to build a complete system. He encouraged the wise investment on the African community and asked for long and strict governance on those illegal trades to have economic modernization in Africa while maintaining the rare wildlife.
