From the Director: Bruce Pickering, Asia Society Northern California Center

Welcome!  In a few short years, Asia Society Northern California has become one of the West Coast's most important resources for all things relating to Asia.

Building on our geographic location on the Pacific Rim and our rich Asian-American heritage, ASNC programs focus on the diversity of Asia and Asian America, and include offerings on politics and policy, business and finance, and arts and culture. During any given week, you might find a comparison of curries from across Asia (complete with samplings), an assessment of the future of democracy in Southeast Asia with Kishore Manbubani and other thought leaders, or an in-depth consideration of China's efforts to develop renewable energy sources. We seek to explore the linkages between California and Asia in all areas, building particularly on the Golden State's well-earned reputation for innovation and excellence.
