A New Era for Global Business: Sustainable Growth for China and the World

Asia Society's 18th Asian Corporate Conference, "A New Era for Global Business: Sustainable Growth for China and the World," was held May 28-30 in Tianjin, China and brought together top business figures and government leaders from around the world to explore Asia's future in the context of China's growing global influence.

This year's conference featured China's Vice President Xi Jinping as the Opening Keynote Speaker in his first appearance before an international audience since his posting in March.

Other highlights included a discussion on the sustainability of cities with the Mayor of Tianjin as well as government leaders from Delhi, Singapore, and Melbourne. International movie star Jet Li spoke about his charity organization and its relief efforts related to the China earthquake. Other sessions included discussions on the environment, capital markets, the internationalization of corporations, and the future of culture in the age of commerce.
