Policy Briefing: India's rapid development and why this matters to Australia
As the final Sydney event for 2016, Asia Society Australia and Tata Consultancy Services will host a Policy Briefing lunch with the Australian High Commissioner to India, Ms Harinder Sidhu.
Run under our ‘Policy Briefing’ series, this special event will provide guests with an insight into the changing shape of India’s development – in terms of both economic modernisation and outward-looking political and strategic posture – and the new opportunities this provides for Australia.
About the Speaker
Ms Sidhu is a senior career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, most recently serving as First Assistant Secretary of the Multilateral Policy Division. She has previously served overseas in Moscow and Damascus. Ms Sidhu’s previous roles included First Assistant Secretary in the Department of Climate Change, Assistant Director-General in the Office of National Assessments and Senior Adviser in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. She holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Sydney.
