Deloitte, Asia Society Australia, Australian National University, and Australia-Japan Business Cooperation Committee have partnered to present the 2015 Japan Briefing and Boardroom Dinner - a flagship thought-leadership event on Japan - in Sydney, the centre of Australia-Japan business connectivity.
The event will offer a forward-looking assessment of Japan’s regional and global relationships, current political landscape, and future directions by leading Japan scholars and policy practitioners.

Keynote Address
Hitoshi Tanaka
Hitoshi Tanaka is a senior fellow at the Japan Center for International Exchange and the chairman of the Institute for International Strategy at the Japan Research Institute. He previously served for three years as Japan's Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, the ministry's second highest civil service post, where he was a top advisor to Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi on a broad range of issues, including relations with North Korea, China, and the United States. As one of the main intellectual architects of Japan's foreign policy over the past several years, he has been a key actor in shaping Japan's approach to East Asia, particularly policy toward North Korea and Japan's participation in the regional community building process.

Sourabh Gupta
Sourabh Gupta is a Senior Research Associate at Samuels International and Associates and is a renowned specialist on international trade policy, territorial disputes, and US-India, China-India and Japan-India bilateral relationships.
Dr Amy King
Dr Amy King is a Lecturer, Strategic and Defence Studies Centre, Coral Bell School of Asia Pacific Affairs, Australian National University. Her research focuses on the China-Japan relationship, Chinese foreign and security policy, and the international relations and security of the Asia-Pacific region. She received D.Phil in International Relations from the University of Oxford, as a Rhodes Scholar. She completed M.Phil in Modern Chinese Studies at the University of Oxford, and B.A. Hons (First Class) in International Studies and B.Bus in International Business at the University of South Australia.
Asia Society Australia’s Executive Briefings are a curated series of meetings presented by diplomats, business leaders and subject matter experts from Asia and Australia. Designed to offer a deep dive into the critical issues of the day, to an audience of senior executives from the business, political, educational and cultural institutions that make up the Asia Society network.
