A theatrical dreamscape, Forgiveness/Mourning is a visually haunting contemporary work, combining influences from Beijing opera, Korean dance, and Japanese Butoh. $10 members; $15 nonmembers; $7 students/seniors. For tickets and information, call (212) 517-ASIA

Forgiveness, created by director Chen Shi-Zheng with composer Eve Beglarian, is inspired by a classic Chinese ghost opera of murder and revenge, and gives voice to the complex collective memory and emotions of a post-World War II generation of Chinese, Japanese and Koreans. Including renowned artists Kenny Endo, Song Hee Lee and Pipá Maestro Wu Man.

Mourning, features the renowned Japanese-born contemporary dance duo Eiko & Koma, using their bodies to explore the physical and emotional state of mourning (some nudity). Originally premiering as Night Tide the work “explores mourning as a metaphor of each body/life as singularly precious, vulnerable, and non-exchangeable."
