July 13 - August 15, 2010

This exhibition presents the varied approaches of five contemporary artists to the medium of single-channel video. The simplicity of this video format forces a heightened awareness of the subject and focus of each artist. The works in the exhibition are promised gifts to Asia Society's Contemporary Art Collection and include:

Makoto Aida (born 1955, Japan), The Video from a Man Calling Himself Bin Laden Staying in Japan, 2005

Patty Chang (born 1972, United States), Melons (At a Loss), 1998

Cao Fei (born 1978, China), Rabid Dogs, 2002

Motohiko Odani (born 1972, Japan), Rompers, 2003

Lin Yilin (born 1964, China), Safely Maneuvering Across Lin He Road, 1995

The exhibition is curated by Miwako Tezuka, Associate Curator, Asia Society Museum.
